Epidemiology

Epidemiology Section


The West Virginia Epidemiology Section serves as a professional forum to promote and advance the science and practice of epidemiology in West Virginia.  Membership in the Epidemiology Section is open to all members of WVPHA who have an interest or background in epidemiology and are

dedicated to supporting evidence-based public health practice and policy across the state. This includes students, educators, researchers, practitioners, epidemiologists, public health professionals, and policymakers working in related fields.

Purpose


The Epidemiology Section works to:

  • Advance West Virginia's use and knowledge of epidemiology.
  • Serve as a professional forum for epidemiologists and public health professionals engaged in epidemiologic research, surveillance, and applied epidemiology.
  • Support evidence-based public health practice and policy.
  • Provide networking, professional development, and continuing education opportunities.
  • Foster collaboration among academia, public health practitioners, and policy-makers.

Membership Dues


You must be a member of the WVPHA to join the Epidemiology Section.


WVPHA General Association Dues:

  • For current members, dues are $15.00 on or before April 1st of each year, increasing to $20.00 after April 1st.
  • For new members, dues are $15 regardless of the submission date.
  • Lifetime members are exempt from these fees.


Epidemiology Section Dues: The fee for the Epidemiology Section is $5.
