Mark your calendars! The West Virginia Public Health Association (WV PHA) invites you to join us at beautiful Canaan Valley Resort for our 2026 Annual Conference, celebrating the 250th Anniversary of America. Join colleagues from across the state for three days of education, networking, and collaboration.
Conference Highlights
- Wednesday, September 16: Opening presentations by State Health Officer Dr. Mark McDaniel and Lori Freeman, CEO of NACCHO.
- Thursday, September 17: Section breakout sessions for Clerical, Environmental, Epidemiology, Nursing, Nutrition, and Threat Preparedness, along with vendor exhibits and networking opportunities.
- Friday, September 18: Closing presentations featuring Cathy Slemp and J. Lee Jenkins (Johns Hopkins/CDC Region 3) on Leadership, Mark Isabella on Conflict Management, and Bob Coffield on the Role of AI in Public Health.
Meals Included Snacks throughout the conference, Thursday breakfast, lunch and banquet dinner, and Friday breakfast.

Advertising and Exhibit Registration
The West Virginia Public Health Association is planning for our 102nd annual conference scheduled for September 16-18, 2026 at Canaan Valley Resort, Davis, WV. Our Association hopes that you will be interested in providing an exhibit, and/or advertising in our program for this year’s conference.
Members of the Association include registered sanitarians, public health nurses, home health nurses, health officers, administrators, nutritionists, dental professionals, student affiliates, office assistants and representatives from each of the eleven sections of the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health. This is the one of the few times of the year that such a large group of public health officials meet to discuss new technologies and share information. For this reason, we hope that you will agree to provide an exhibit promoting your organization at this year’s conference.
Exhibits will be located in the same area where break refreshments will be served. This enables conference attendee’s ample time to view the exhibits and ask questions of the representatives. We also offer each exhibit booth one complimentary ticket to our annual banquet and awards ceremony which is held on Wednesday night.
